Combat Seminar
17th October 2026 10am – 1pm
This has been planned for a while, but we have been waiting for the right time of year to announce.
This seminar is open to the public and will deal with all aspects of martial arts combat, from hard takedowns, separating realism from the classical, competitive techniques, pressurised training and more.
A majority of our style is designed on improving body mechanics – deriving power from the body, creating good structures, moving cleverly and perfecting shapes. What we sometimes dont look at enough is the violent and sudden aspect of a ‘street’ conflict. Basically, training comfortably amongst people we trust is very different to dealing with an aggressive stranger. Many styles don’t look at this enough, despite becoming excellent technicians.
The seminar will help in that area, build confidence and steer students in better ways of training, especially as they head towards advanced levels.
To be clear, this isnt about beating each other up and we will always train safely, but it will help members work towards realistic training.
Cost is £30pp for members, £40pp for non members – payable by 02/10/2026
